On April 29, 2025, a massive power outage struck the Iberian Peninsula, affecting mainland Portugal, Spain, Andorra, and parts of southwest France. The blackout began at 12:33 CEST and lasted nearly 23 hours in some areas. Transportation systems, including trains and traffic signals, were severely disrupted.
